Publicado: 04/02/2012 Archivado en: Uncategorized | Tags: fedora, gnome Deja un comentario »I’m maintaining a new package for Fedora, on this occasion I created the rpm for a gnome-shell extension. This extension allows the user to make simple math operations in the search input in the acitivities overview.
The source of the extension is here, and you can install it using yum:
yum install gnome-shell-extension-calc
Then restart the gnome-shell with the key combination alt + f2 and the command r. Afterward, active it using gnome-tweak-tool.
I hope this package be useful for you as it is for me. Thanks to eonpatapon for develop the extension. Regards.
Gnome-shell-extension-pomodoro working on f16
Publicado: 16/12/2011 Archivado en: Uncategorized | Tags: fedora, gnome 5 Comentarios »The gnome-shell-extension-pomodoro is a great extension for gnome3, it allows to use the pomodoro technique easily, adding a pomodoro clock to your top panel.
I installed the official package but it didn’t work on f16, so I began to investigate the reason of the trouble and I found that the package was based on an pre-release version from few month ago that doesn’t have support for the gnome version that is included in fedora.
The bug and the patch are described in bugzilla, see here.
The solution in this case is to install the version 0.5 available in the official github repo or download this unofficial package built by me while the bug is fixed in the fedora repository.
And there you have, the app working perfectly.
Tip: If you don’t know what is the pomodoro technique take a minute to read about it, it’s really useful.
